I made a field trip to Lawrence today and dropped off a couple copies of the album at Love Garden, listening to Paulo Coehlo’s The Alchemist on my Hoopla app on the drive over. The store is now open, appointment-free, with masks strictly required, and doing quite well.
Pretty much any record store I go to, I look for James Blood Ulmer records. Today I scored two, at reasonable prices.
Mass Street has been hit pretty hard. Your typical college drag is usually a nice eclectic refuge from boring American culture. Mass has definitely taken it on the chin but you get the feeling that creative hard-working people know how to survive in funky times.
