DOG BREATH: 21 DAYS OF POETRY, DAY 4

BONK, RIGHT ON THE HEAD

After coffee, journaling, and 10 minutes of a meditation app

it is time to dictate a poem in a word file.

Safe to say, I am a creature of habit

who creates reliable systems to capture output.

Usually around 9:30, I take a 10 minute morning walk.

I check my bank account every morning

and will sometimes visit record label sites

and place records in my shopping cart

which I intend to buy someday but don’t, that day.

This reminds me, I picked up a copy of the Buzzcocks debut

and it is still in its shrink wrap!

Maybe today in lieu of a lunch break,

I will put that on and gyrate around the dining room.

Paint one wall orange. Throw an apple up in the air

and wait for a Newton moment.
