I watched this extremely rad Johnnie To flick, The Mission, on Filmstruck yesterday. It was so stylish and matter-of-fact and between really austere, groovy action scenes, the personality studies were fun. Watching a chubby gangster eat pistachios has never been this cool.
I really liked the scene where the guy ran behind like 400 feet of fence banner graphics to get a shot at a rooftop sniper. That was low budget stuff, and yet, the coolest thing I have seen in a movie in a long time. Luckily the banner wasn't zip-tied to the fence at the bottom.
