I found a pile of journal entry drawings from 2008 with all these cartoons--these were made early in the morning before work, in the garage where The Golden Motors used to practice. I was dedicated to daily introspective writing (3 pages handwritten) for more than twenty years. I would allow these moments of doodling before dutifully digging in to the writing part. Thankfully I have loosened Wesleyan strictures on my daily writing/drawing/music. Sometimes I even shop for Pumas online rather than write.
