I have enjoyed a sweet birthday weekend in Chicago with Tracy. It started with me blowing the Squids band fund on a midlife crisis car that I can barely even get in and out of! We ended up parking it and taking the El to Bucktown yesterday and walked 15K steps and had the most amazing tacos at Antique Tacos.  Reckless Records was a little overwhelming but I got out alive. 

The Nick Cave/Warren Ellis concert was special, in a grand venue, Auditorium Hall. Tracy and I are grateful for this music and performance after recent family losses. With hell opening up in Ukraine and klepto-autocracy on the rise here and abroad it was all the more powerful. They played “Lavender Fields” in a gospel mode— my favorite of the new songs and one I have returned to again and again of late.
